The Bagua or Pa Kua Map dates back thousands of years, originating from ancient Chinese philosophies.

The "I Ching" or "Book of Changes" is an ancient divination text that contains sacred energy symbols known as trigrams. When the trigrams are stacked in pairs hexagrams are formed, creating the sixty four combinations of the I Ching. Over time the Bagua's symbolism expanded to include 9 key areas, each representing specific aspects of life.

Trigrams

In the context of Feng Shui, the Bagua is comprised of eight trigrams, also known as "guas"., which are fundamental symbols derived from the ancient Chinese text, the "I Ching" or "Book of Changes."

Each trigram represents a unique combination of 3 horizontally drawn solid/straight (Yang) or broken (Yin) lines symbolizing different elemental energies and universal natural phenomena. Typically the lines are read from the bottom up with the bottom line representing Earth, the middle line representing man, and the top line representing Heaven.

These trigrams form the basis of the Bagua and are associated with a specific cardinal direction, earth element, season, number, bodily organ, color, family member and other vital life aspects.

Here are the eight trigrams, along with their corresponding attributes:

Feng Shui in interior design is all about creating harmony and balance in your space. We take every principle serious within our interior design. First start by decluttering. You can use your vision board to incorporate your Bugua map to identify areas of your life that corresponds with sections of your home.

Use plants and water near your entrance way.

Use colors to ad energy and harmony. Pay attention to furniture placement, use natural lighting for energy and mood.

By integrating these principles, you can transform any space into a sanctuary that nurtures your well-being.

How Does It Work

The Bagua map is not a religion. It is an ancient life-mapping framework developed through long-term observation of human behavior, environment, and daily living. The Bagua map is not a religion. It is an ancient life-mapping framework developed through long-term observation of human behavior, environment, and daily living. Historically, it was used to study how different areas of life such as health, relationships, work, creativity, and personal growth interact within a physical space, particularly the home.

Rather than functioning as a belief system, the Bagua map operates as a structural guide. It divides life into interconnected areas, showing how order, balance, and intentional organization can support overall well-being. Chinese civilization preserved and refined this system through study and practice, applying it as a practical method for living rather than a form of worship.

Similar spatial and life-organization principles were also understood and applied by other advanced civilizations, including the Moors. Moorish scholars and architects emphasized geometry, balance, symmetry, and purposeful spatial design in homes, cities, and public spaces. Their approach reflected the same understanding that physical environments influence mental clarity, social harmony, and quality of life.

Themes found in the Bagua map order, stewardship, balance, and intentional placement also appear in historical and biblical texts. While the Bible references the importance of structure and the organization of one’s home and life, it does not provide a detailed method for implementation. Ancient systems such as the Bagua map illustrate how people historically translated these principles into practical structure.

Research and historical study help explain why these frameworks have endured. The Bagua map reflects a period when learning was experiential and observational, grounded in lived patterns rather than abstract belief.

Iam the Vision was created as a way to study and apply these historical frameworks in a modern context. It focuses on learning, practice, and awareness—connecting ancient life-organization systems with present-day personal development. The Bagua map is presented as a tool for understanding life structure, emphasizing education, balance, and intentional living.
